નજીકnajiknear

Built in Ahmedabad, for Ahmedabad.

Najik is a hyperlocal discovery app. It answers a question a search engine is bad at: what’s happening around me, right now?

A city of eight million, and the part that matters is the few streets around you.

Why we're building it.

There is a café four hundred metres from where you are that changed its menu this morning. A boutique two streets over got new stock yesterday. A studio near your office is running a workshop on Saturday. None of it reaches you.

Search engines and directories are built to answer “does this place exist and what is its phone number”. That was the right question in 2010. It isn't the question people ask now. Social feeds are closer, but they reach followers, and half your followers live in another city.

Najik is built for the gap in between: a daily feed of what businesses near you are actually doing, ordered by how close they are. For a shop owner, it means the people who see your post are the people who can walk to your door.

What we hold to.

  • Near is the whole idea.

Najik means “near”. Every post on the app carries how far away it is, because distance is the thing that decides whether you actually go.

  • Today beats everything.

A listing that hasn’t changed since 2022 helps nobody. We only show what a business has posted recently — the offer, the new stock, the event tonight.

  • Local businesses aren’t leads.

Indian shop owners have spent years being cold-called by directories that sold their number on. We don’t do that, and we don’t take a cut of what they sell.

Where we are

Ahmedabad first. Gujarat next.

We're building street by street rather than claiming the whole country on day one. A feed is only useful when the businesses on it are genuinely near you, and that means going deep in one city before going wide.
